Improve Your Improv With Acting Skills
The word of the day in these hard economic times: diversify. Improvisation won't make you any richer than scripted acting will, but it can provide an additional skill for your arsenal — and one useful for auditions. Besides, it's fun. And the good news is that actors have an advantage over nonactors: The improv professionals I talked to agree that trained, experienced actors already have most of the skills needed for improv and that learning to improvise will enrich your scripted work.
